It is crucial to actively stand against the injustice that persists in our country and use our individual platforms to amplify the black voice. I referenced music, specifically the albums To Pimp a Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar, 4:44 by Jay-Z, Laila's Wisdom by Rapsody, to connect music to amplifying the black voice. Music around us and many artists who have shared their experiences and advocacy through their music are ways that we can advocate by sharing and dissecting. While analyzing each track, I saw and felt the different ways we can understand the experience of the Black creator and how we can amplify their voices by discussing their music and bringing light to the activism that has been taking place around us. While I've referenced these albums, there are many more I discovered that accelerate meaningful conversations. It is vital to educate and utilize the resources we have around us and use the opportunity to access our passions for a socially conscious future and future generations. Take the time to find the bridge between your passions to activism.
